Scaffolding across Buckinghamshire, from our yard in Iver
Buckinghamshire is home. ATC Scaffolding operates from Seven Hills Farm on Seven Hills Road in Iver, and a large share of the work we do never leaves the county. Iver, Denham, Gerrards Cross, Chalfont and Beaconsfield are all within a few minutes of the yard, which changes what we can realistically promise: a site visit the next day rather than next week, a forgotten lift added the same afternoon, and a dismantle that happens on the day it was booked because the wagon is not coming from another county.
The building stock here is unusually varied for one county. South Bucks has some of the most substantial private housing in the country, much of it set behind gates on gravel with mature landscaping that has to be protected. The Chilterns bring flint, brick and chalk cottages, listed frontages and steep, awkward plots. High Wycombe is built into a valley with terraced streets rising off it, and further north Aylesbury, Buckingham and Milton Keynes carry large volumes of new build and estate housing where developers need scaffolding phased to a programme.
We work across all of it — domestic roof strips and extensions, commercial refurbishment, new build development, solar installations and data centre projects. Curtis has been in the scaffolding trade for 25 years and set the company up with Andrew to run it the way they thought it should be run: turn up, communicate, and price the job honestly the first time. The team is 19 strong, which is enough to hold several Buckinghamshire jobs at once without the programme slipping.
How quickly we can reach Buckinghamshire
Iver, Denham, Richings Park, Iver Heath, Gerrards Cross and Chalfont St Peter are minutes from the yard. For these we are often able to look at a job the same day it is called in.
Beaconsfield, Amersham, Chesham, High Wycombe and Marlow are a straightforward twenty to forty minute run up the A355, A413 or M40.
Aylesbury, Buckingham and Milton Keynes sit at the northern end of the county. We still cover them fully; we just plan the mobilisation with a little more lead time so materials arrive at the start of the day rather than the end of it.
County-wide, the target is a free site visit within 48 hours of your enquiry, and the phone is answered 24 hours a day.
Local knowledge
The property types we work on in Buckinghamshire
Knowing the building stock is half the job. These are the structures we are asked to scaffold most often across Buckinghamshire.
Large private detached housing
Gerrards Cross, Beaconsfield, Denham and Chalfont are full of substantial detached homes on gravel drives with landscaped grounds. Load spreading, ground protection and a tidy compound matter as much as the scaffold itself.
Chilterns cottages and listed buildings
Flint, soft brick and chalk in Amersham, Chesham and the surrounding villages. These frontages need a considered tying strategy — we would rather buttress or free-stand than drill something we cannot make good.
Valley-side terraces in High Wycombe
Streets built into a slope, so base levels step and standards need setting out properly. Common for roof works, chimney repairs and re-renders.
New build estates and developments
Around Aylesbury, Buckingham and Milton Keynes. Developers need scaffold sequenced plot by plot, adapted as the build rises and struck cleanly at handover.
What we are usually called out for in Buckinghamshire
Roof strips, re-roofs and temporary roofs
Bucks weather does not care about your programme. Where the roof is coming off for more than a few days, a fully sheeted temporary roof keeps the works dry and the trades on site.
Solar panel access
Domestic and commercial solar has grown fast across the county. We build to the installer's date so the roof is ready when they arrive.
Extensions, garden rooms and loft conversions
Very common through South Bucks. Access adapted as the structure changes rather than erected once and left to get in the way.
Chimney and high-level repairs
Independent or bridged access to chimney stacks with a proper working platform, not a ladder and hope.
Data centre and commercial projects
Slough Trading Estate sits on the county border and the wider corridor is full of live and under-construction data centres. We work inside these environments regularly.

Why clients in Buckinghamshire keep calling us back
Our yard is in this county
Iver is not a satellite depot. Materials, wagons and the team all start here, which is why South Bucks jobs move faster than anyone travelling in.
25 years in the trade, locally
Curtis has worked in and around this area for a quarter of a century. That is 25 years of knowing which streets take a wagon and which do not.
Repeat trade clients across Bucks
Roofers, builders and developers who use us on every job are the clearest signal we have. Several of our Google reviews come from firms who have worked with us for years.

Local conditions
The problems that catch people out in Buckinghamshire
Ground, weather, building age and local rules all change how a scaffold has to be built. These are the ones we plan for here.
Chalk and made-up ground in the Chilterns
Bearing capacity varies enormously across short distances. Sole plates and, where needed, designed bases are the difference between a stable scaffold and one that settles in the first wet fortnight.
Listed and heritage frontages
Restrictions on fixings, and an obligation to leave the building as you found it. We survey the tie positions properly before the first lift goes up.
Gated properties and narrow lanes
Plenty of Bucks jobs cannot take a full-size wagon to the front door. We check turning, gate widths and overhead branches at the site visit so the delivery does not fail on arrival.
Steep and stepped plots
Sloping gardens and split-level ground around Wycombe and the Chiltern villages need stepped bases and careful bracing rather than a standard configuration.
Older brickwork and soft mortar
Common in Victorian and pre-war Bucks housing. Tie selection has to suit the substrate, and that is a decision made on site, not in an office.
Our process
How a Buckinghamshire job runs, start to finish
The same six steps on every job, whether it is one chimney or a phased commercial programme.

FAQs
Scaffolding in Buckinghamshire: common questions
The questions we get asked most by clients in Buckinghamshire.
Do you serve the whole of Buckinghamshire?+
Yes. Our yard is in Iver, and we cover South Bucks, the Chilterns, High Wycombe, Marlow, Aylesbury, Buckingham and Milton Keynes.
How fast can you reach a Buckinghamshire site?+
Iver, Denham, Gerrards Cross and the Chalfonts are minutes away and can often be looked at the same day. Anywhere in the county, we aim to carry out a free site visit within 48 hours.
How much does scaffolding cost in Buckinghamshire?+
It depends on height, number of elevations, duration and access. We do not quote blind — the free site visit means the price reflects your building rather than an average.
Are you available for emergencies in Buckinghamshire?+
The phone is answered 24 hours a day. Our working hours are Monday to Saturday, 6:30am to 5:00pm, and being local means we can usually react quickly.
Can you scaffold a listed building or a property in a conservation area?+
Yes. We assess fixings and tie strategy carefully on heritage frontages and use free-standing or buttressed solutions where drilling is not appropriate.
How long can I keep the scaffold?+
The standard hire period is 12 weeks. Extensions are straightforward — just tell us before it expires.
Do you work for developers on new build sites?+
Yes. We phase scaffolding to the build programme across estate and development sites in the north of the county and beyond.
Will the scaffold damage my driveway or garden?+
We use sole plates and boards to spread loads and protect surfaces, and we plan loading routes at the site visit. On gravel and landscaped grounds that planning is the whole job.
What payment methods do you accept?+
Bank transfer.
How do I book a free site visit?+
Call the office or send your site address and a short description through the contact form, and we will get a visit booked, usually within 48 hours.
